Metal recycling in Europe offers significant environmental benefits compared to mineral extraction, notably by reducing energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. By recovering and reusing metals, we also limit the exploitation of natural resources, thereby preserving fragile ecosystems. The recycling process consumes up to 95% less energy than traditional extraction, making it a much greener alternative.

What's more, our approach helps prevent metal waste from being exported to certain countries in Asia and Africa, where recycling is still all too often carried out under worrying environmental conditions.

Reduce waste

We are committed to maximising the recycling rate of the ferrous and non-ferrous metals we recover. Thanks to advanced sorting and processing technologies, we ensure that materials are recovered in the best possible way.

Save natural resources

Saving natural resources is a priority. By recycling metals, we reduce our dependence on virgin resources and limit our environmental impact. Recycling requires far less energy and natural resources than extraction, while eliminating the use of polluting chemicals. Our processes are optimised to minimise electricity consumption and maximise the positive impact on the environment.

Reduce CO₂ emissions

We optimise our recycling methods to minimise CO₂ emissions. This includes the use of less energy-intensive separation and smelting techniques and the use of renewable energy sources. We are also reducing our carbon footprint by optimising our logistics operations, including planning transport routes efficiently and reducing empty runs. Every tonne we recycle here in Europe avoids being shipped to the other side of the world, particularly Asia, where containers often travel more than fifteen thousand kilometres by boat. By encouraging local processing, we are significantly reducing the carbon footprint associated with maritime transport, while strengthening Europe's circular economy.
